This adapter by Delock can be used to extract the audio signal from an HDMI transmission. While the video signal is displayed on a TV or monitor, the audio signal can be sent over the second HDMI port to a surround receiver. This allows an existing AV receiver or sound bar to be used even if no suitable Ultra-HD connection is available. HDMI audio output Unlike conventional digital S/PDIF audio outputs, the HDMI audio output can be used to transmit all modern surround formats to the receiver. Audio Return Channel (ARC) Alternatively, the eARC function can be activated on the extractor. Then the audio signal of the connected TV device is output at the HDMI audio port of the device.
